Up for auciton is this ...

Hello everyone and thanks for the interest! I have for auction a 1970's model Yamaha YSS-61 professional soprano saxophone. It does have the purple logo! I am the second owner of this instrument. It was owned by a local pro player and was primarily used for studio work. I bought this horn from the owner around 1995 and used it until about 1999 and it sat in its case up until January of last year. I took it out and had some pads replaced and put it back in its case. I really don't understand how they determine the percent of lacquer but I would say there is def. 90% of original lacquer left. There are few VERY minor scratches here and there but nothing significant, more so around the neck strap ring. There have NEVER been any repair work associated from dings, dents, soldering, and pickup installs/removals. The only adjustments ever made were for the pads. It is ready to play out of the case and comes from a smoke free residence. It plays beautifully from bottom b flat to high f sharp (yes has the high f sharp key). It has nice intonation, does not have any bad flat or sharp ranges. The original case is in excellent condition shows minor wear. The interior of the case is in excellent condition as well.

The sax was signed by Kenny G. after a concert in San Diego in September of 2007. I have a few pics of him with it for proof. I tested a small area of the signature and it does wipe off clean without trace, for those who do not wish for the signature on the sax. Thank you for your time.

Ok, for the truth behind the sale. Plain and simple ... the economy. It's a struggle lately and I am slowly starting to have to sell my personal possessions and I hate to part with this but ... it's just how it is right now. I know whoever gets it will be more than pleased with it. It's a great vintage soprano that plays excellent!

Included is the saxophone, and case. No mouthpiece included.
